Job description
About this role
About The Role
The role focuses on building and maintaining native mobile experiences used by customers daily — shipping features across iOS and Android with a strong emphasis on performance, reliability, and user-facing polish. This is a hands-on engineering position within a product-focused mobile team.
You will own critical parts of the mobile application stack, from API integration and offline-first architectures to release engineering and crash-free rate targets. The work directly shapes how millions of users interact with the product.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and ship features natively in Swift/SwiftUI and Kotlin/Jetpack Compose, or via cross-platform frameworks where appropriate to the product surface
- Design and integrate REST and GraphQL APIs, handling authentication, pagination, caching, and real-time updates
- Improve app performance — cold start times, render performance, memory footprint, and bundle size — using profiling tools like Instruments and Android Profiler
- Implement offline-first data layers with local persistence (Core Data, Room, or SQLite) and robust sync/reconciliation logic
- Own test coverage across unit, integration, and UI automation suites (XCTest, Espresso); maintain CI pipelines for builds and releases via Fastlane and App Store/Play Store release processes
- Monitor production quality using crash reporting (Sentry, Firebase Crashlytics) and analytics; triage and resolve regressions quickly
- Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and mentoring of mid-level engineers on the team
What We Are Looking For
- 3–7 years of software engineering experience, including at least 3 years building and shipping consumer or production mobile apps
- Deep proficiency in either iOS (Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, Combine) or Android (Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines/Flow), with willingness to work across both platforms
- Experience integrating backend APIs (REST/GraphQL), handling networking edge cases, auth flows, and background work
- Strong understanding of mobile architecture patterns: MVVM, MVI, modularization, and dependency injection (e.g., Hilt, Swinject)
- Track record shipping releases through the App Store and/or Google Play, including feature flags, staged rollouts, and hotfix processes
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- Bonus: Experience with cross-platform frameworks (React Native, Flutter, KMP), mobile CI/CD at scale (Bitrise, Xcode Cloud), or deep work on push notifications, deep linking, or app security (certificate pinning, biometric auth)
