About this role

About The Role

The role anchors the people team's day-to-day operations: onboarding, benefits and payroll administration, HRIS management, and the systems that keep a growing workforce running smoothly.

You will work closely with recruiting, finance, and people leadership to ensure policies are executed consistently, data stays accurate, and employees get fast, clear answers to their people questions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end onboarding: pre-boarding communications, I-9 and compliance documentation, equipment coordination, and new-hire orientation
  • Administer benefits enrollment, open enrollment cycles, and leave-of-absence processes in partnership with brokers and PEO vendors
  • Manage the HRIS (Rippling, Gusto, BambooHR, or similar) as system owner: maintain employee records, run reports, and drive data hygiene
  • Support biweekly payroll processing by auditing timesheets, new hires, terminations, and compensation changes with finance
  • Build and refine people processes and documentation, including the employee handbook, policies, and self-serve knowledge base
  • Respond to employee questions on benefits, payroll, and policies with a fast, high-touch service standard
  • Track people-ops metrics such as headcount, turnover, and onboarding completion, and surface trends to leadership

What We Are Looking For

  • 3-5 years of experience in people operations, HR generalist, or HR coordinator roles, ideally in a fast-growing tech environment
  • Hands-on experience owning an HRIS and administering benefits and payroll workflows
  • Working knowledge of employment compliance fundamentals (I-9, EEO, FLSA, state registrations)
  • Strong operational rigor: organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing sensitive information with discretion
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; able to explain policies clearly to employees at all levels
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Bonus: experience with HRIS implementations or migrations, people analytics (Looker, Retool, or SQL), and multi-state employment administration
