About this role

About The Role

The role owns the infrastructure that keeps production systems running at scale - Kubernetes clusters, CI/CD pipelines, and the observability stack that surfaces problems before customers notice them.

You will work closely with backend engineering teams to make deployments faster, incidents rarer, and on-call quieter. This is a hands-on role: expect to spend real time in clusters, pipelines, and incident channels, not just meetings about them.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain Kubernetes-based infrastructure on AWS using Terraform, ensuring environments are reproducible, cost-efficient, and reliably provisioned
  • Own and evolve CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions and ArgoCD, reducing deploy times and enabling safe, frequent releases with automated rollbacks
  • Build and maintain observability tooling - Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and PagerDuty - with actionable alerts tied to SLOs rather than noise
  • Lead incident response for production outages, drive blameless postmortems, and follow through on corrective actions until resolved
  • Implement infrastructure-as-code standards, policy-as-code guardrails, and automated security scanning across the deployment pipeline
  • Partner with engineering teams on capacity planning, performance tuning, and load testing for services serving millions of requests daily
  • Automate away manual toil: write tooling in Python or Go that eliminates recurring operational work across the team

What We Are Looking For

  • 3-6 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering, running production systems at meaningful scale
  • Deep hands-on expertise with Kubernetes - cluster operations, Helm, networking, autoscaling, and debugging workloads in production
  • Strong infrastructure-as-code skills with Terraform; comfort managing multi-account AWS environments (EKS, VPC, IAM, RDS, S3)
  • Production experience with CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, or similar) and GitOps workflows
  • Solid scripting/programming ability in Python, Go, or Bash - enough to build real tooling, not just glue scripts
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • Bonus: experience with service mesh (Istio/Linkerd), multi-region architectures, cost optimization/FinOps, or on-call leadership in a 24/7 environment
