About this role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to support accounting operations for a manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who can manage inventory and cost-related accounting activities while maintaining accuracy across the general ledger.

The position will play a key role in monthly close, reconciliations, and financial reporting, with a strong focus on operational partnership and process consistency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly close activities by preparing and reviewing entries, analyzing account activity, and ensuring timely completion of reporting deadlines.
  • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger through detailed account analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, and prompt resolution of discrepancies.
  • Oversee inventory and cost accounting processes, including valuation reviews, cost tracking, and analysis of manufacturing-related financial data.
  • Prepare and post journal entries related to accruals, inventory movements, reserves, and other core accounting transactions.
  • Perform bank and account reconciliations, investigate variances, and coordinate corrections to support accurate financial records.
  • Partner with operations and finance teams to evaluate production costs, monitor inventory balances, and improve reporting transparency.
  • Support audit and compliance requirements by organizing documentation, explaining account activity, and reinforcing internal controls.
  • Assist with accounting process improvements and support operational changes that affect financial workflows and reporting.
  • Contribute to the preparation of periodic financial reports by providing accurate schedules, analysis, and supporting documentation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Significant accounting experience, including senior-level responsibility in general ledger and month-end close activities.
  • Hands-on background in cost accounting and inventory accounting within a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong knowledge of journal entries, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliation processes.
  • Ability to analyze financial data, identify variances, and resolve accounting issues with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel for reporting, reconciliations, and account analysis.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and prioritize multiple responsibilities effectively.
