About this role
Power Electronics Engineer (Power Semiconductors)
$120,000 - $160,000 + 10% Bonus + RSUs + Health Benefits + 401(k) + Long-Term Progression
Austin, TX (On-site)
Are you a Power Electronics Engineer looking to work on genuinely cutting-edge semiconductor switching technology as it moves from development to real-world commercialization?
This is an exciting opportunity to join a lean and highly technical team, meaning your input will matter, you’ll develop your technical skills in power semiconductor devices, and there is scope to grow long-term on either a technical or leadership track as the product scales.
The company is an Austin-based semiconductor business developing a bidirectional solid-state power switch designed to control large amounts of electricity more efficiently, reduce switching/conduction losses, and enable smaller, faster, solid-state protection and circuit-breaker solutions.
In this role, you’ll design and validate power electronics hardware (converters, inverters, SSCBs), build prototypes, run lab characterization, and publish technical collateral.
This role would suit a Power Electronics Engineer looking to deepen technical expertise, take ownership, and play a key part in commercializing a breakthrough power device technology.
The Role:
- Develop, validate and characterize bidirectional power switch devices/modules and supporting hardware
- Design PCBs for converters, inverters and solid-state circuit breaker applications
- Build prototypes, create validation test plans, and execute hands-on lab testing/measurement
The Person:
- Degree in EE / Power Electronics (PhD/MS with + 2 years’ experience, or BS + 4 years)
- Hands-on experience with simulation and PCB design
- Experience with DC-DC or DC-AC converters or inverters
