About this role

About Precision Structural Concrete

Precision Structural Concrete is an Arizona-based commercial concrete and masonry contractor expanding its operations into the Phoenix metropolitan area.

With a strong foundation in Northern Arizona and an expanding pipeline of large commercial projects, we are seeking an experienced, highly motivated Commercial Concrete Operations Manager / General Superintendent to help establish and lead our Phoenix operations.

This is an opportunity for the right individual to take ownership of field operations, build a team, and play a significant role in the long-term growth of our company.

We are looking for a hands-on leader who understands how to build projects, manage people, maintain production, and operate a profitable commercial concrete division.

Position Overview

The Operations Manager / General Superintendent will be responsible for establishing and overseeing PSC's Phoenix-area field operations.

This individual will work directly with company ownership to plan projects, recruit and develop crews, coordinate equipment and resources, and ensure commercial concrete projects are completed safely, efficiently, and profitably.

This is not a desk-only management position. We need someone who is comfortable being in the field, understands concrete construction from the ground up, and can lead multiple crews and projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Project Execution

  • Oversee multiple commercial concrete projects throughout the Phoenix metro area.
  • Plan and coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
  • Manage excavation, grading, foundations, slab preparation, concrete placement, and finishing operations.
  • Develop project execution plans and maintain construction schedules.
  • Coordinate directly with general contractors, project managers, suppliers, and company ownership.
  • Identify potential problems early and implement practical solutions.

Team Building & Leadership

  • Assist in recruiting foremen, equipment operators, concrete finishers, carpenters, and laborers.
  • Build and develop reliable, high-performing field crews.
  • Establish crew responsibilities, accountability, and production expectations.
  • Supervise field leadership and maintain consistent quality and safety standards.
  • Create a positive, productive, and professional jobsite culture.

Production & Financial Performance

  • Manage labor productivity and jobsite efficiency.
  • Monitor manpower hours, equipment utilization, and project budgets.
  • Identify opportunities to improve production and reduce unnecessary costs.
  • Coordinate equipment purchases, rentals, and mobilization.
  • Provide ownership with regular updates on project progress, staffing, scheduling, and operational needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 7–10 years of commercial concrete construction experience.
  • Minimum 3–5 years in a superintendent, general superintendent, or operations leadership role.
  • Strong experience with commercial foundations, footings, slabs on grade, and structural concrete.
  • Experience managing multiple crews or projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules.
  • Strong understanding of concrete production rates, labor management, equipment, and job costing.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop field personnel.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area.

Preferred Experience

  • Large commercial and industrial concrete projects.
  • Large slab placements, including laser screed operations.
  • Site grading, excavation, and aggregate base preparation.
  • Managing multiple foremen and field crews.
  • Recruiting and establishing new construction teams.
  • Experience helping establish or expand a construction division.
  • Familiarity with construction management software and digital reporting.

Who We're Looking For

Our ideal candidate is an experienced commercial concrete professional who has progressed through the field into leadership.

You understand how concrete projects are actually built, know what it takes to make crews productive, and can recognize issues before they become expensive problems.

You are confident making field decisions, holding people accountable, developing foremen, and communicating directly with ownership.

Most importantly, you are someone who wants to help build and grow an operation rather than simply maintain an existing one.

Why Join PSC?

  • Opportunity to help establish and lead our Phoenix operations.
  • Direct involvement with company ownership and major operational decisions.
  • Significant leadership responsibility and long-term growth opportunities.
  • Opportunity to build your own strong field team.
  • Expanding commercial and industrial project pipeline.
  • Competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications.
