About this role

Overview

The Marketing Coordinator is a creative, design-focused member of the marketing team responsible for bringing our brand, events, and neighborhood initiatives to life across social, digital, email, and print channels.

Graphic design is at the heart of this role. The Marketing Coordinator will lead the day-to-day execution of creative materials for our core events, programs, and campaigns while helping establish a consistent and compelling visual identity across the organization.

In addition to design, this position will support social media content creation and management, website and email marketing, and other special marketing projects. The ideal candidate is a strong visual storyteller who can move comfortably between creative execution and collaborative project work.

This role works closely with the Marketing Director and regularly collaborates with staff, committees, Board members, businesses, vendors, and community partners.

Key Responsibilities

Graphic Design & Creative

A significant portion of this position will be dedicated to graphic design and creative production.

  • Lead day-to-day graphic design for organizational marketing campaigns, programs, and events.
  • Develop creative concepts and visual systems for major events and initiatives.
  • Design assets across a wide range of formats, including social media, email, websites, digital advertising, signage, posters, flyers, event materials, and other print collateral.
  • Help establish and maintain a cohesive design ethos across the organization's marketing channels.
  • Adapt campaign creative across multiple formats while maintaining consistency and quality.
  • Prepare production-ready files for print vendors and other external partners.
  • Maintain organized creative files, templates, brand assets, and project archives.
  • Bring a strong design point of view while remaining flexible enough to incorporate organizational and stakeholder feedback.

Social Media & Content Creation

  • Create engaging social media graphics, short-form content, and other visual assets.
  • Assist with management of the organization's social media channels and content calendar.
  • Capture photo and video content in the neighborhood and at organizational events when needed.
  • Create and edit Reels, Stories, posts, carousels, and other social-first content.
  • Help identify opportunities to showcase member businesses, events, neighborhood experiences, and community stories.
  • Ensure social content remains visually consistent with the organization's overall brand and marketing strategy.

Digital & Email Marketing

  • Design graphics and supporting creative for email marketing campaigns.
  • Assist with the production and deployment of newsletters and promotional emails.
  • Support updates to organizational websites and landing pages.
  • Create digital assets for event pages, ticketing platforms, advertising campaigns, and partner promotions.
  • Work with the Marketing Director to ensure creative is optimized for the appropriate platform and audience.

Marketing Coordination & Special Projects

  • Work closely with the Marketing Director to execute broader marketing campaigns and initiatives.
  • Translate strategic direction into polished creative deliverables.
  • Implement feedback from Board members, committees, staff, and other stakeholders while maintaining the integrity of the creative concept.
  • Coordinate with printers, photographers, videographers, contractors, agencies, and other creative vendors as needed.
  • Support special events, neighborhood campaigns, business promotions, and other organizational initiatives.
  • Help manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure deliverables remain on schedule.
  • Participate in organizational events and occasional evening or weekend activities when marketing support or content capture is required.

What the Day-to-Day Looks Like

There will be a lot of design time. On any given day, you might be developing the visual direction for an upcoming event, turning that concept into social and email graphics, preparing signage for print, editing a Reel, updating a webpage, or working with the Marketing Director to incorporate committee feedback into a campaign.

This is a hands-on creative role. While you'll participate in strategy and planning conversations, you'll spend much of your time actually making things.

You'll also work in an environment with multiple stakeholders. Being able to receive feedback, understand the objective behind it, and translate it into strong creative work is an important part of succeeding in this position.

Qualifications

  • Strong graphic design portfolio demonstrating excellent typography, composition, hierarchy, branding, and visual storytelling.
  • Strong creative point of view and understanding of contemporary design across digital, social, and print mediums.
  • Experience designing for social media and digital marketing.
  • Ability to take creative direction and independently execute projects from concept through final production.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is equal parts designer, content creator, and collaborator.

You'll thrive in this position if you have a strong visual perspective but don't need every project to be precious. You understand that great design has to work in the real world—sometimes across a dozen formats, sometimes on a tight deadline, and sometimes after several people have weighed in.

You should be comfortable owning creative projects, asking questions when direction isn't clear, presenting ideas, accepting constructive feedback, and finding solutions that balance creative quality with organizational needs.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone excited to use design and marketing to help tell the story of a vibrant neighborhood, its businesses, its events, and its community.
