We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This vital role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the accurate management of financial records, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and supporting the organization’s financial health.

As a Staff Accountant, you will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of our accounting systems, performing reconciliations, and assisting with financial reporting. Your expertise will help drive operational efficiency and uphold the highest standards of financial accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes using various financial software such as QuickBooks or similar systems.
  • Conduct detailed general ledger accounting and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls, including SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including ledger review and financial statement preparation.
  • Support budgeting, variance analysis, and financial data analysis utilizing Excel data analysis techniques and spreadsheets.
  • Handle confidential information with discretion while maintaining precise data entry and recordkeeping standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on audits, internal controls, and process improvements related to governmental or corporate accounting practices.
  • Process weekly payroll for the company employees

Experience

  • Proven accounting experience with a strong understanding of accounting concepts such as debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, account analysis, and account reconciliation.
  • Hands-on experience working with accounting software like Workday, ADP, Kronos, Ceridian, PeopleSoft, UltiPro, Paychex or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with financial systems including Microsoft Office Suite—especially Excel for data analysis—and other tools like Quicken or ActiveX spreadsheets.
  • Experience in public accounting or corporate accounting environments is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of governmental accounting standards or compliance frameworks such as SOX is a plus.
  • Strong numeracy skills combined with excellent attention to detail for accurate data entry and account reconciliation tasks.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while demonstrating strong customer service skills when interacting with internal teams or external auditors.

Join us to be part of a forward-thinking organization that values precision, integrity, and continuous growth in the finance domain!
