About this role

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client in the Houston, TX area that is searching for a Senior QA Engineer/Senior QA Lead - DWP and EDT, for an onsite role.

The Senior QA Engineer will partner with Product Owners, R&D, Solutions Teams, SMEs, and Engineering stakeholders to define test strategies, implement modern automation frameworks, and accelerate AI-enabled quality assurance practices while validating highly complex engineering calculations and workflows Responsibilities: Quality Leadership:

  • Lead testing strategy for Landmark Drilling & Completions products
  • Establish and enforce QA standards across multiple product teams
  • Define quality metrics and reporting structures
  • Drive shift-left testing practices

Engineering Workflow Validation

  • Ensure business rules align with drilling and completions workflows
  • Validate engineering calculations and technical requirements

Validate Engineering Workflows Within

  • Compass
  • WellPlan
  • WellCat
  • StressCheck
  • EDM
  • Digital Well Program

Test Planning & Execution:

  • Create comprehensive test plans and strategies
  • Design complex test scenarios covering end-to-end workflows
  • Conduct risk assessments for releases
  • Lead regression and integration testing efforts

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Participate in design reviews and architecture discussions
  • Advocate for quality throughout the SDLC

  • Completions Engineers

Continuous Improvement

  • Expand automation coverage
  • Implement AI-driven testing solutions

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Drilling Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline
  • Strong academic background preferred
  • Petroleum Engineering degree highly preferred
  • 8+ years of software QA experience
  • 5+ years of experience supporting Upstream Oil & Gas applications
  • Ability to validate engineering calculations and business logic, not simply application functionality

Strong Understanding Of

Hands-on experience with one or more:

  • Compass

  • Digital Well Program applications

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs.

This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law.

Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
