Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to step-down unit patients according to care plans and hospital protocols
• Monitor patient status, assess vital signs, identify changes, and respond to clinical concerns
• Administer medications, therapies, and treatments as orders dictate; monitor for adverse effects
• Collaborate with physicians, unit leadership, and other health professionals to coordinate care and discharge planning
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record
• Maintain patient safety and comfort, manage lines and tubes, and follow isolation and infection-control practices

Requirements

• Active RN license in good standing (state requirements to be determined)
• Experience in step-down or intermediate/acute care settings preferred
• Ability to work evening, 8-hour shifts (5 days per week)
• Willingness to participate in a travel temporary assignment (PRN)
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work effectively in a hospital setting and adapt to a fast-paced environment
