About the Team

The Forward Deployed Engineering team operates at the intersection of consulting, software engineering, data engineering, analytics, artificial intelligence, and client delivery. Forward Deployed Engineers work directly within client environments to understand business objectives, evaluate operational challenges, identify opportunities for improvement, and deliver scalable technology solutions.

Responsibilities extend beyond technical execution and require close partnership with business stakeholders, engineers, product teams, program leadership, and end users. A strong emphasis is placed on implementation, adoption, and measurable business value.

Team members are expected to build solutions, influence stakeholders, challenge assumptions, and help organizations successfully integrate technology into day-to-day operations. Exposure spans multiple industries, technologies, data ecosystems, and transformation initiatives, providing opportunities to solve diverse business problems while working alongside both technical and executive stakeholders.

About the Role

The Forward Deployed Engineer serves as an embedded technical consultant responsible for translating complex business problems into scalable technical solutions. The position combines elements of software engineering, data engineering, analytics, artificial intelligence, stakeholder management, solution architecture, and technology consulting.

Forward Deployed Engineers partner directly with client stakeholders, business users, engineers, and delivery teams to gather requirements, identify root-cause challenges, design technical solutions, and drive successful implementation.

Success within the position requires the ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments, understand both technical and business considerations, and communicate confidently with stakeholders across all levels of an organization. A successful candidate will possess the ability to move beyond stated requirements and uncover the underlying business problem.

Equal importance is placed on technical expertise, structured problem-solving, stakeholder engagement, communication skills, and a strong sense of ownership. Approximately 60-70% of the role focuses on technical solution delivery, while 30-40% focuses on stakeholder engagement, discovery, consulting, requirements gathering, and adoption.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner directly with clients to understand business objectives, operational challenges, and technology requirements.
• Gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines, workflows, integrations, and supporting infrastructure.
• Configure, customize, and deploy client-facing technology solutions.
• Support implementation of data, analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning solutions.
• Collaborate with engineers, product teams, business stakeholders, and delivery leadership.
• Drive user adoption, enablement, and organizational change associated with solution implementation.
• Identify root-cause business challenges and recommend effective technical approaches.
• Lead technical workstreams from discovery through production deployment.
• Support project delivery while contributing best practices, reusable assets, and delivery standards.
• Mentor junior consultants and provide guidance across project teams as needed.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering, data engineering, analytics engineering, technical consulting, or a related field.
• Strong experience delivering production-ready enterprise solutions.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Python and SQL.
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and workflows.
• Experience gathering requirements and translating business needs into technical solutions.
• Experience partnering directly with enterprise stakeholders and business users.
• Strong client-facing communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex business and technical challenges.
• Experience operating independently and owning technical workstreams.
• Experience delivering enterprise solutions from requirements gathering through implementation and deployment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technology consulting or digital transformation consulting experience.
• Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Palantir Foundry, or similar modern data platforms.
• Experience implementing Generative AI, AI-enabled workflows, or advanced analytics solutions.
• Exposure to enterprise AI, machine learning, or data modernization initiatives.
• Experience mentoring technical team members or junior consultants.
• Experience supporting large-scale transformation programs.
• Functional expertise in areas such as finance, operations, supply chain, manufacturing, healthcare, life sciences, or consumer products.

Location &

Work Environment The organization is actively hiring across several U.S. markets, including Dallas, Seattle, Atlanta, Chicago, and New York. A hybrid work model is required. Team members are expected to work onsite a minimum of three days per week when not traveling for client engagements.

Regular interaction with client stakeholders, business users, and delivery teams is a core component of the position. Forward Deployed Engineers often work directly within client environments depending on project requirements. Travel requirements vary based on client assignment and project needs.

Certain engagements may require regular travel, while others may involve limited or no travel. Candidates who enjoy customer interaction, problem-solving, and working directly with stakeholders tend to be particularly successful within the role.
