Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead technical efforts to maintain and enhance Train Control and SCADA system infrastructure.
- Ensure 24/7 availability of four critical Train Control System facilities and their supporting network infrastructure.
- Administer and configure RedHat and Windows-based systems for high availability and security.
- Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot routers, switches, and firewalls in support of a fault-tolerant communications network.
- Plan and execute software and hardware upgrades for servers, workstations, and network equipment.
- Develop, implement, and monitor network security policies and practices.
- Interface with internal and external technical specialists to resolve system issues and plan enhancements.
- Create and maintain system documentation, network diagrams, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Support emergency technical response and rotating on-call responsibilities.
- Assist with developing procedures and documentation to improve operational readiness and response.
Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of experience supporting SCADA or real-time control systems
- Minimum 7 years of experience with RedHat and Windows systems administration
- Experience configuring and maintaining routers, switches, and firewalls
- Strong understanding of network security practices and protocols
- Proven experience in full lifecycle management of hardware/software projects
- Expertise in RedHat Enterprise Linux and Windows Server platforms
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, or equivalent
- Cisco certifications such as CCNA or CCNP (preferred)
- Experience with high-availability, fault-tolerant network design
- Strong technical documentation and troubleshooting skills
- Experience working in 24/7 operational environments with on-call responsibilities
- Familiarity with railroad operations, signaling, or transportation systems (preferred)
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field (preferred)
