Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior QA Engineer to lead onsite quality assurance activities and coordinate with offshore QA resources. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in manual and automation testing, backend validation, API testing using Postman, SQL, and defect management.

The candidate must possess excellent communication, troubleshooting, and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with developers, business stakeholders, and offshore teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead onsite QA activities, prioritize tasks, and provide technical guidance to offshore QA resources.
• Plan, design, execute, and review manual and automated test cases for functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Perform backend validation using SQL queries, databases, application logs, APIs, and monitoring tools.
• Develop, maintain, and execute API test cases and collections using Postman.
• Analyze defects, perform root cause analysis, and communicate technical findings and business impact to stakeholders.
• Manage defects, test documentation, test evidence, and test artifacts using JIRA and OpenText ALM Octane.
• Participate in business discussions, defect triage meetings, and technical reviews.
• Prepare test reports, quality metrics, status updates, and stakeholder presentations using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Review test results and documentation to ensure quality standards and release readiness.
• Mentor offshore QA team members and promote continuous improvement in testing processes and automation practices.
• Manage multiple priorities and ensure timely delivery of quality deliverables.

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, including manual and automation testing.
• Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating offshore QA teams.
• 4+ years of backend testing experience, including SQL, database validation, application logs, and troubleshooting.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with Postman for API testing, validation, and test collection development.
• Strong debugging, defect analysis, and root cause analysis skills.
• Experience with JIRA and OpenText ALM Octane for defect tracking and test management.
• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for reporting and stakeholder communication.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience leading defect triage and business calls.
• Ability to explain defects with clear reproduction steps, supporting evidence, technical findings, and business impact.
• Strong organizational skills, accountability, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Selenium, Java, Python, REST Assured, or similar automation tools and frameworks.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, test reporting, and release management.
• Experience testing microservices, event-driven applications, or cloud-based platforms.
