Job description
About this role
About The Role
The role owns product strategy and execution for a core platform surface - translating ambiguous business problems into a prioritized roadmap, and shipping features that engineering teams can build and customers actually use.
You will sit at the intersection of engineering, design, data, and go-to-market, making the daily tradeoff calls that determine what ships, in what order, and why. The team measures success in shipped outcomes, not decks.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the product roadmap for a key product area, defining priorities, sequencing, and success metrics in partnership with engineering leadership
- Write clear product requirements and specs (PRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria) that engineers can execute against without constant clarification
- Run discovery: customer interviews, competitive analysis, and data analysis in SQL/Amplitude to validate problems before committing engineering capacity
- Drive sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release decisions alongside engineering managers; unblock teams when tradeoffs surface
- Define and instrument KPIs - adoption, retention, conversion, engagement - and report progress to executive stakeholders monthly
- Partner with sales and marketing on launches: positioning input, enablement materials, and post-launch feedback loops
- Make scope and prioritization calls under deadline pressure, documenting decisions and tradeoffs explicitly
What We Are Looking For
- 3–6 years of product management experience shipping software products, with at least 2 years owning a roadmap end-to-end
- Demonstrated ability to work directly with engineers - comfortable discussing APIs, system architecture, and technical tradeoffs without a translator
- Hands-on analytics skills: SQL proficiency and experience with tools like Amplitude, Mixpanel, or Looker
- Track record of shipping: candidates should be able to walk through 2–3 products they took from problem definition through launch and iteration
- Strong written communication - specs, one-pagers, and decision docs that hold up under executive review
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field (CS, engineering, math) or equivalent practical experience
