Job description
About this role
About The Role
The role owns the frontend surface of a product used by hundreds of thousands of users daily — building fast, accessible interfaces in React and TypeScript that ship to production weekly.
You will work closely with product designers and backend engineers to turn ambiguous product requirements into performant, maintainable component architecture, with a real say in tooling and technical direction.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and ship user-facing features in React and TypeScript, owning them from design handoff through production monitoring
- Architect reusable component libraries and design system contributions used across multiple product surfaces
- Optimize application performance: bundle analysis, code splitting, lazy loading, and Core Web Vitals improvements
- Integrate with REST and GraphQL APIs, handling caching, optimistic updates, and error states with React Query or similar tooling
- Write comprehensive tests using Jest and React Testing Library (or Playwright for E2E), maintaining strong coverage on critical user flows
- Participate in code reviews, pairing sessions, and architecture discussions that shape frontend standards across the team
- Improve accessibility and cross-browser compatibility to WCAG 2.1 AA standards on all new feature work
What We Are Looking For
- 3–6 years of professional frontend engineering experience, with at least 2 years building production applications in React
- Deep proficiency in TypeScript, modern JavaScript (ES6+), and CSS architectures (Tailwind, CSS Modules, or styled-components)
- Experience with state management patterns: Redux Toolkit, Zustand, or React Query/TanStack Query
- Track record of shipping performance improvements measured against real user metrics (Core Web Vitals, Lighthouse)
- Comfort working in a modern build ecosystem: Vite or Webpack, Git-based workflows, and CI/CD pipelines
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- Bonus: Experience with Next.js, SSR/streaming architectures, design systems tooling (Storybook, Figma tokens), or frontend observability platforms like Sentry and Datadog RUM
