Job Overview
As a Part-Time Registered Nurse, you’ll deliver attentive, evidence-informed care and help patients and care teams make well-coordinated decisions. You’ll assess patient needs, administer medications and treatments within your scope, and maintain accurate records while following privacy and infection-control requirements.
This role may involve clinic, outpatient, inpatient, home, or senior-care settings, depending on the position’s needs.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients, monitor vital signs, identify changes in condition, and communicate concerns to the appropriate care team.
- Provide patient care, including medication administration, injections, IV infusion, catheter care, wound care, and patient education as appropriate to the setting and scope of practice.
- Support triage, intake, diagnostic evaluation, care coordination, and discharge planning.
- Document assessments, treatments, and outcomes in electronic medical record (EMR) or electronic health record (EHR) systems; protect patient information under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
- Your impact: Timely assessment and clear documentation help patients receive appropriate care and help colleagues coordinate safe next steps.
Experience
- Required: Current registered nurse licensure for the applicable jurisdiction, plus basic life support (BLS) certification where required.
- Preferred: Patient care experience in settings such as primary care, emergency medicine, acute care, geriatrics, hospice, home care, or assisted living.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth is helpful; experience with triage, medication administration, IV insertion, phlebotomy, and medical documentation is valued.
- Additional relevant experience may include critical care, telemetry, pediatrics, behavioral health, dialysis, long-term care, memory care, or post-acute care.
- Apply sound anatomy and physiology knowledge, aseptic technique, infection control practices, and professional communication in daily nursing work.
