Job Overview

Bolder Apps is seeking a Software QA Engineer to help ensure that web and mobile applications meet functional requirements, perform reliably, and provide a high-quality user experience. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of software testing, defect investigation, test documentation, and quality assurance processes.

The successful candidate will collaborate with developers, designers, and project managers to identify issues early, validate new features, and support reliable software releases across multiple platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scenarios based on project requirements.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing of web and mobile applications.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects.
• Verify bug fixes and ensure that existing functionality remains stable after updates.
• Test applications across different browsers, operating systems, devices, and screen sizes.
• Collaborate with developers to investigate defects and determine potential causes.
• Validate API responses, application workflows, data handling, and third-party integrations.
• Participate in requirements reviews and identify potential quality risks before development is complete.
• Support release testing and help confirm application readiness for deployment.
• Maintain test documentation and communicate testing progress to project stakeholders.
• Recommend improvements to testing procedures, product usability, and overall software quality.

Required Skills

• Experience in software quality assurance, application testing, or a related technical role.
• Understanding of software development life cycles and testing methodologies.
• Knowledge of functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing.
• Experience documenting defects and managing test cases.
• Familiarity with browser developer tools and cross-platform testing.
• Understanding of APIs, HTTP requests, JSON, and basic database concepts.
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with developers and distributed project teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience testing iOS, Android, and web applications.
• Familiarity with test automation tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or Appium.
• Experience with API testing tools such as Postman.
• Familiarity with issue-tracking and project management platforms.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing workflows.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Knowledge of accessibility, usability, performance, and basic security testing.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
