The U.S. Consumer and Digital Technology (USCDT) Team brings together foundational strategic technology capabilities in digital experience engineering (Mobile and Web), AI/ML, marketing technology, enterprise communications, travel and lifestyle, and automation, grounded in our data technology model that prioritizes data governance.

It employs a ground-breaking focus with development responsibilities for customer-facing capabilities that deepen and expand digital engagement, as well as core technical capabilities that cut across business lines and customer segments.

American Express Ads, Offers, and Dining Technology brings together our advertising, offers, and dining platforms to elevate the Membership experience.

The team drives the expansion of Amex Offers, the development of innovative digital advertising capabilities, and leads the end-to-end technology integration and platform development of our dining services to create seamless connections between diners, restaurants, and the broader American Express Membership ecosystem.

American Express Global Dining brings together world-class experiences through platforms like Resy , Tock, and Rooam , creating seamless connections between diners, restaurants, and the broader Amex Membership ecosystem. You’ll help shape the future of how people discover, book, and enjoy dining worldwide.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Hands-on experience designing, building, deploying, and operating business-critical web and backend applications.
  • Strong understanding of modern web application architecture across frontend, backend, APIs, data stores, and production environments.
  • Strong experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and web fundamentals, including HTML and CSS, along with experience using modern frontend frameworks such as React.
  • Backend development experience with Java.
  • Experience designing, building, integrating, and supporting REST and gRPC APIs.
  • Experience with distributed systems, algorithms, data structures, and database design.
  • Practical experience with relational and non-relational databases, including data modeling, query optimization, and schema evolution.
  • Experience operating production applications, including troubleshooting, incident response, performance tuning, monitoring, and reliability improvements.
  • Understanding of modern frontend engineering practices, including accessibility standards, responsive UI patterns, browser performance, and application performance optimization.
  • Experience with modern software development practices and tooling, including version control, CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews, and iterative delivery.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills with the ability to reason across application layers and identify root causes of complex issues.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, particularly when working with product, design, engineering, and infrastructure partners.
  • Comfortable using AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate development, testing, debugging, and troubleshooting while applying strong technical judgment.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and thoughtful adoption of new technologies, tools, and engineering practices.
