Job description

About this role

Help build the next generation of AI-powered engineering. Join our AI-native Academy as an early-career Software Engineer (AMTS) to solve real production challenges, build intelligent automation and strengthen system reliability. With hands-on guidance from a senior mentor, you’ll combine software development with production support experience, building the skills to grow into broader product and platform engineering roles.

You’ll investigate support cases, troubleshoot production issues and participate in support rotations—gaining firsthand insight into how complex systems work and where they can improve. Your mandate goes beyond resolving individual issues: you’ll build software, AI agents and tools that eliminate recurring manual work and prevent problems from returning.

Your projects could include agentic Tier 1/2 case automation, automated access workflows, technical knowledge retrieval, log analysis and system hardening. You’ll write, test, review and deploy code, with opportunities to own improvements from identifying the problem to measuring the result.

As you demonstrate strong engineering skills and measurable impact, you’ll have opportunities to graduate into core product engineering teams, based on your readiness and business needs. It’s a chance to learn through practical ownership, deliver meaningful improvements and build a foundation for your software engineering career.

What you’ll do

  • Investigate and resolve support cases, production defects, access issues and integration failures.
  • Build automation for recurring tasks such as access requests, case responses, log analysis, troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Develop AI agents and workflows that help classify cases, retrieve relevant knowledge and execute approved actions with appropriate safeguards.
  • Identify root causes and improve code, monitoring, tests and documentation to prevent recurring incidents.
  • Write, test, review and deploy maintainable software using established engineering practices.
  • Participate in incident response and scheduled support or on-call rotations, with training and guidance appropriate to your experience.
  • Work with senior mentors and product teams to understand systems, prioritize improvements and deliver changes safely.
  • Measure the impact of your work through reduced manual effort, fewer repeat issues, faster resolution and improved reliability.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in computer science, engineering or a related field.
  • Foundational programming skills in at least one language, such as Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript or Go.
  • An understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including data structures, APIs, testing, version control and debugging.
  • An ability to investigate problems using logs, error messages and system behavior.
  • Curiosity about automation, AI-assisted development and reliable production systems.
  • Clear communication, a collaborative approach and a willingness to ask questions and learn from feedback.
  • We welcome evidence of your skills from internships, coursework, personal projects, open-source contributions or professional experience. The scope and independence expected will reflect the level of the role.

Helpful experience

  • Building scripts, internal tools or workflow automation.
  • Salesforce platform working knowledge preferably with Salesforce admin certification & APEX hands on experience - or desire to obtain certification.
  • Working with cloud platforms, databases, CI/CD pipelines or monitoring tools.
  • Developing or integrating AI agents, large language models or knowledge retrieval systems.
  • Supporting enterprise applications or investigating production incidents.
  • Applying secure coding practices, access controls and audit logging.

How you’ll grow

  • You’ll receive mentoring, code review and practical experience across the software development lifecycle. As you demonstrate engineering capability and measurable impact, you’ll have opportunities to contribute to increasingly complex systems and broader product development, based on your readiness and team needs.
  • Success means solving today’s problems while building software that reduces tomorrow’s manual work.
