About this role

The Experience

Join Salesforce's International Tax team, a group of more than 20 seasoned professionals across San Francisco, Dublin, Singapore, Hyderabad, Tokyo, and Sao Paulo. The team covers the full tax life cycle, from planning and implementation to reporting, compliance, and controversy.

As Senior Director, you will report to the SVP of International Tax, M&A and Controversy, lead high-impact, high-value projects, and have a clear path to significant leadership growth. This is a hybrid role with three days in office each week.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

  • Partner with the SVP of International Tax to assess tax opportunities and risks, make recommendations to the EVP of Global Tax, and execute tax planning strategies.
  • Lead international tax matters for M&A, including diligence and integration planning.
  • Provide thought leadership and collaborate with the international tax team across all regions.
  • Work with the global tax team (75+ professionals), including provision, compliance, indirect tax, and controversy, to provide support and leadership.
  • Research and analyze US international tax (e.g., GILTI, FDII, Subpart F, FTCs, reorganizations, repatriation) and non-US tax (e.g., Pillar I and II, OECD pronouncements, country-specific issues).
  • Monitor legislative developments in the US and abroad, and recommend strategies in response.
  • Work with cross-functional teams (e.g., Treasury, Accounting, Legal) and external advisers on a variety of projects.
  • Manage and mentor team members.

You're Our Person If...

  • You have 15+ years of experience combining Big 4 accounting or law firm work with corporate tax department work.
  • You have strong technical knowledge of US international tax and a broad understanding of non-US international tax.
  • You have a track record of cross-border planning and restructuring (e.g., taxable and non-taxable reorganizations, asset transfers, repatriation).
  • You have led high-impact, complex international tax projects.
  • You have managed and mentored teams.

Even Better If...

  • You hold a CPA, MST, JD, or other advanced tax or legal credential.
  • You communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • You have excellent organization and project management skills and build strong relationships.
