About this role

We are hiring a Senior PCIe Firmware Engineer to join the Chip Design PCIe Firmware team, based in Beijing. You will be the team's first-line representative for our Chinese customers — keeping the highest standard of NVIDIA's quality, efficiently resolving customer issues, and implementing the features our customers need.

You will work on the low-level C Firmware code layer for groundbreaking network adapters and the next generation of NVIDIA devices, backed by automation and testing environment.

What you'll be doing:

  • Turn customer feature requests into reality — design, implement, and verify firmware features for postsilicon products, in close coordination with the customer and the wider PCIe group.
  • Take part in the team's activities — feature implementation and verification, complex post-silicon debug, and release convergence toward official releases.
  • Collaborate across teams — PCIe firmware, software, architecture, and QA — as well as with local customer oriented application engineers.
  • Improve the automated process - Constantly improving our efficiency and integrity.

What we need to see:

  • B.Sc. or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering / Computer Science / Computer Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in firmware design and development.
  • Strong low-level C and embedded fundamentals.
  • Strong debugging skills — the ability to drive complex post-silicon / embedded issues to root cause.
  • Customer-facing communication — fluent Mandarin and professional English.
  • Problem solver, independent and curious.
  • Strong social skills and self-learning ability.
  • Strong multi-disciplinary capabilities and the ability to work with a wide interface of people — chip design, firmware, software, architecture, QA

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Experience in a customer-facing engineering or support role, ideally with networking / data-center customers.
  • Knowledge in networking, Linux, and scripting languages (Python).
  • Familiarity with hardware verification concepts and tools (C++, Python, GIT, Jenkins automation, HW familiarity).
  • Experience in collaborating with software and architecture teams to define and implement firmware.
  • Experience with in-depth problem solving
