About this role

In this role you will join AI & Research CELA, the legal team responsible for supporting Microsoft’s efforts to develop and advance emerging and frontier technologies, with a primary portfolio focused on our AI-forward healthcare businesses.

You will provide legal support to Microsoft’s healthcare product business, partnering with engineering and business leaders building the next generation of AI-enabled products and services.

This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of frontier AI, product development, and a compelling market opportunity, helping teams move quickly and responsibly from technological innovation to products that can operate and scale globally.

Your portfolio will span AI and product counseling, healthcare-specific regulatory requirements, privacy, and transactional support for business development and product engineering teams.

As part of the AI & Research legal team, you will also work across CELA on broader legal and policy issues presented by emerging AI technologies, bringing perspective to Microsoft’s broader approach to responsible AI development and deployment.

  • Help clients develop creative, practical approaches that enable innovation and global scale while appropriately managing legal, regulatory, and reputational risk.
  • Collaborate with subject-matter experts across Microsoft to interpret complex and evolving requirements and recommend a clear course of action to senior business and engineering leaders.
  • Maintain strong, trusted-advisor relationships with business clients, engineering leaders, and executives.
  • Monitor developments across AI, healthcare regulation, privacy, and related fields and advise clients on their implications for Microsoft’s products and strategy.
  • Partner with colleagues across AI & Research CELA and the broader CELA organization to promote consistency in Microsoft’s approach to AI development and deployment, particularly where healthcare requirements intersect with broader emerging-technology issues.
