About this role
Marketing Product Manager (Contract)
Please note that this is a contract role providing services to Microsoft through external staffing partners of Allegis Global Solutions. If you are selected for this role, you will be employed by AGS and will not be an employee of Microsoft.
Summary
We are seeking a seasoned product marketing professional to join a consumer-focused technology team on a contract basis. This role is centered on building scalable marketing infrastructure — developing reusable templates, frameworks, and processes that enable the broader team to clearly communicate value to diverse customer audiences.
The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguous environments, takes ownership of work from initial definition through delivery, and brings a builder's mindset to establishing structure where it may not yet exist. This is a high-visibility, strategy-forward engagement with cross-functional scope and real influence over how consumer audiences are understood and engaged.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement scalable product marketing processes, frameworks, and reusable templates for use across the broader team
- Create, maintain, and evolve audience value proposition templates tailored to distinct customer segments
- Translate product and audience needs into clear, compelling positioning and messaging
- Analyze customer segments, purchase triggers, competitive trends, engagement data, and customer journeys to surface actionable insights
- Convert research findings into go-to-market recommendations, positioning strategies, packaging guidance, and customer journey frameworks
- Develop executive-ready presentations, strategic briefs, and written recommendations for senior stakeholders
- Partner with cross-functional teams across product, marketing, analytics, and partner organizations to align on priorities and dependencies
- Lead projects independently from early-stage strategy through stakeholder alignment and execution
- Coordinate vendors, agency partners, and internal contributors while tracking milestones, deliverables, and risks
- Identify opportunities to improve existing marketing workflows and establish more effective ways of working
- Use AI-enabled tools to accelerate research synthesis, pressure-test narratives, and elevate the quality of strategy and campaign deliverables
Requirements:
- 5+ years of direct experience in product marketing, audience or market insights, growth strategy, business planning, strategy consulting, or a closely related discipline
- Demonstrated experience as a Product Marketing Manager or in a highly comparable product marketing function — general marketing experience alone is not sufficient
- Proven track record supporting consumer-focused technology products or services; candidates with exclusively health-tech or B2B commercial backgrounds will not be considered
- Experience building processes, systems, frameworks, or reusable templates rather than solely executing against established programs
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience will be prioritized over formal education credentials
- Experience developing product positioning, value propositions, customer journeys, and go-to-market strategies grounded in customer and competitive research
- Experience managing complex marketing workstreams across multiple stakeholders, vendors, and contributors with defined milestones and deliverables
- Experience within large-scale technology organizations is strongly preferred; familiarity with subscription services, AI-enabled products, lifecycle marketing, or cross-device customer experiences is especially relevant
- Product marketing and go-to-market strategy, including positioning, messaging, audience strategy, campaign briefs, and launch planning
- Market, customer, and competitive research with the ability to synthesize quantitative and qualitative data into actionable recommendations
- Audience segmentation and customer journey development for consumer technology products or services
- Cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management across product, marketing, analytics, and partner teams
- Independent project and program management, including milestone tracking, risk identification, and executive-ready deliverable development
- Process design and systems thinking — building frameworks and templates that can be leveraged at scale
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience developing executive-level presentations and strategic documents
- Comfort operating in ambiguous environments and taking ownership of loosely defined workstreams
- Familiarity with AI-enabled marketing tools and workflows is a strong plus
