Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- 5 years of experience designing, building, and testing large-scale distributed systems or infrastructure services.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience collaborating with and influencing cross-functional stakeholders (Product Management, SRE) and neighboring engineering groups, especially when managing priorities.
- Experience leveraging modern architectural patterns or integrating advanced system optimization/automation techniques to improve system efficiencies.
- Demonstrated experience proactively identifying scaling bottlenecks, simplifying legacy or complex codebases, and actively reducing operational chaos to improve overall team velocity.
- A proven track record of thought leadership and innovation in addressing complex, open-ended problems.
- Deep passion for mentoring both junior and executive engineers, leading design reviews, and introducing new engineering practices that elevate the team's capabilities.

We enable large enterprise customers to meet strict licensing, accounting, and maintenance requirements by providing dedicated physical Compute Engine servers.
Our strategy focuses on capturing large-scale data center exits, capitalizing cloud spend, and providing seamless integration with GCE ecosystem features like MIGs, GKE, and Reservations. Sole Tenancy engineers are directly exposed to external and internal partners, collaborating first-hand to co-design custom features, unblock high-value migrations, and resolve complex architectural requirements.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Responsibilities
- Define, scope, and assume complete technical ownership over your team's functional space, turning ambiguous business requirements into concrete, actionable technical plans.
- Set the short- and long-term technical direction and architecture for the platform, ensuring systems are scalable, reliable, and secure.
- Maintain a high bar of individual contribution by writing clean, well-tested, and maintainable code, while leading design reviews and setting engineering best practices.
- Act as the primary escalation point for technical hurdles, bringing teams together to resolve complex architectural bottlenecks and move projects forward.
- Mentor and guide engineers on the team, helping them grow technically through code reviews, design discussions, and collaborative pairing.
