  • Systems Integration and Bench Test Support

Work alongside full-time engineers to support electronic hardware integration (e.g. ECUs, displays, power distribution units, and wiring harnesses), test setups, data collection, and analysis.

  • Continuous Improvement

Support the development of internal automation scripts and data-processing tools using MATLAB, Python, or C# to streamline team workflows and engineering efficiency.

  • Structured Mentorship and Professional Development

Partner with an assigned full-time engineer to receive peer-to-peer technical guidance, prioritize daily deliverables, and build foundational motorsport engineering skills. Additional opportunity to reverse mentor.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a BS in Engineering or Computer Science with minimum two semesters completed
  • 1+ years of hands-on motorsport experience with vehicle, ICE and/or hybrid controls (i.e. industry, FSAE, EcoCAR)
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Must be 18 years or older, and eligible to work in the US without sponsorship

Desired Qualifications

  • Hands-on Automotive Experience

Practical, hands-on automotive experience related to combustion engines, vehicle systems, wiring harness design, sensor application, and/or mechanical troubleshooting (e.g., project cars, Formula SAE, or shop experience).

  • Programming and Scripting

Basic programming or scripting experience (e.g., Python, MATLAB, or C#) for data processing, automation, or testing purposes.

  • Modeling and Simulation

Basic modeling and simulation experience (e.g., Matlab/Simulink).

  • Automotive Communications and Networking

Foundational knowledge of automotive communications (e.g., CAN, Ethernet) and wired/wireless networking (e.g., LAN, WAN).

  • Diagnostic Tool Proficiency

Familiarity with standard diagnostic, testing, and measurement tools (e.g., Vector tools, dSPACE products, oscilloscopes)

Ideal Candidate Characteristics

  • Motorsport Passion and Drive

Possesses a genuine enthusiasm for professional motorsport and an eagerness to make meaningful technical contributions.

  • Proactive Self-Starter

Thrives in an agile, hands-on environment; takes initiative to ask questions, research solutions, and execute tasks with accountability.

  • Data-Driven and Adaptable

Approaches engineering problems with objective logic, pivoting quickly when requirements change.

  • Disciplined Team Player

Communicates test observations and data findings clearly (both verbally and in writing) while collaborating seamlessly within a multi-disciplinary team.

  • Curiosity and Growth Mindset

Eager to step outside of immediate academic comfort zone to learn new software skills, hardware implementations, and systems.
