Senior Software Engineer

Senior Software Engineer positions offered by WB Games Inc. (Salt Lake City, Utah). Develop and implement key game systems and features, as well as integrate with internal and external shared services and libraries.

Participate in all parts of the development process from concept through to live-ops. Work closely with the project engineering team to architect and develop high quality, low-latency, and highly responsive code. Perform peer code reviews and champion a high standard of code excellence.

Collaborate with the design team to build gameplay systems and supporting tools. Work with design and product teams for feature viability, costing, design completeness, and risk assessment. Mentor junior engineers and provide design guidance on new features.

Assess new market trends, features, technologies, and emerging techniques to stay competitive. Requires a bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or a related field and 5 years of experience performing software engineering with cross-functional teams.

Must have 5 years of experience in each of the following: Working with C++, including Templates, Exception Handling, and Multi-Threading; Performing and working with object-oriented design, algorithms, and data structures; Applying Console or PC development best practices; Working with the Unreal Engine 5, including core systems, player input, game modes, and user interfaces; and Working with game development disciplines and their inputs into the content pipeline.

In lieu of a bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in the aforementioned fields and 5 years of experience as stated, employer will accept a master's or foreign equivalent degree in the aforementioned fields and 3 years of experience as stated. Position reports to Salt Lake City, UT office.
