About this role
Who We Are
At VONDER, we are building for a future where intelligence expands human possibility without competing for human presence. We believe AI should become a quieter, more natural part of everyday life—helping people remember more, think clearly, and work with less friction. We pursue that vision through intelligent eyewear, a personal and everyday medium for reimagining how technology can belong in our lives.
Our approach is simple: fashion leads, and technology serves unnoticed. VONDER is an AI-native team passionate about the next frontier of intelligent wearables. We value calm, deliberate execution, high standards without fear, and long-term thinking over short-term noise.
We believe action brings clarity—and that meaningful work is best done by people who care deeply, think independently, and make one another better. If you believe the future of AI should be more useful, more personal, and more respectful of human attention, we'd love to hear from you. Ideal Candidate You're a consumer software product manager who builds with AI at the core.
You've defined and shipped AI-powered mobile or web products to real users, and you know what makes people trust an AI product, come back to it every day, and choose to pay for it. You understand that AI products follow different rules. The output isn't fixed, trust is earned one answer at a time, and sometimes the best experience shows nothing at all.
You work closely with designers and you think in user problems, funnels, and habits. You can talk confidently with engineers about what the AI underneath can and can't do. You also communicate clearly across teams, languages, and time zones, and you keep everyone moving toward the same goal.
Role Description This is a full-time, exempt, salaried role based onsite at our Cupertino, CA office. You'll own the AI experience at VONDER: the VONDER app and web experience, and the AI features they bring to users. You'll work day to day with our design team, full-stack engineering team, and our AI services team.
Together you'll form the core of VONDER's AI product team. You'll also partner closely with our Hardware Product Manager so that the app and the glasses work and launch as one product. You'll define the features, set the roadmap, align design and engineering around clear priorities, and ship consumer AI products people love.
Responsibilities
Lead the evolution of VONDER's AI experience. Building on our first-generation launch, set the vision and roadmap for the VONDER app and web experience, including Feed, Chat, Journal, Memory, and My VONDER. Use real usage, user feedback, and market insight to decide what to improve, what to build next, and what to stop.
Define the next generation of AI features. Find the user problems worth solving, shape concepts, prototype quickly, and write clear requirements. Cover expected AI behavior, edge cases, and fallback states, so design and engineering know exactly what to build and what "done" looks like.
Raise the bar on AI quality. Work with AI Platform and Cloud engineers to turn features into technical requirements. Make informed trade-offs between answer quality, latency, reliability, and cost, and define the quality bar each feature must meet before and after it ships.
Lead the experience with design. Partner with our Product Designers through research, prototyping, and usability testing. Shape how AI shows up on screen, including how it shows its sources, handles uncertainty, and asks for feedback, so it feels personal, trustworthy, and genuinely helpful.
Make the everyday experience effortless. Keep improving the moments that shape how people feel about VONDER: getting started, choosing a plan, moving between phone and web, and managing their privacy. The goal is a product that feels simple, consistent, trustworthy, and worth paying for.
Partner with our Hardware Team. Keep the app roadmap in step with the device and firmware roadmap, and own the app side of the glasses experience. Resolve dependencies early through clear, shared documentation across languages and time zones.
Align the team and drive execution. Prioritize work across design, AI and Cloud, mobile, web, and QA. Run a steady release rhythm for app and web, and coordinate with the hardware team when app, firmware, and cloud updates ship together.
Learn from real users. Combine product analytics, A/B tests, user interviews, app store reviews, and customer experience insights into clear priorities. Own activation, engagement, retention, conversion, and app ratings.
Work the AI-native way. Use AI tools to prototype ideas, speed up research and analysis, and test concepts quickly, while owning the judgment and accountability behind every product decision.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, Human–Computer Interaction, Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 3+ years of product management experience, including at least 2 years defining and shipping AI- or LLM-powered features in consumer mobile and/or web products.
Strong technical fluency in modern AI systems: large language models, prompting, retrieval and memory, agents and tool use, and speech recognition and text-to-speech. You can hold your own in technical design discussions. Strong product and design sense.
You can critique a flow, sketch an alternative, and build a quick prototype yourself. Experience with growth and monetization: onboarding, activation, subscriptions and in-app purchases, and paywall experiments. Data-driven.
You're fluent in product analytics tools, A/B testing, and cohort and funnel analysis. A proven ability to lead cross-functional teams without formal authority, including teams in different locations and time zones. Familiarity with iOS, Android, and web release processes, including App Store and Google Play guidelines.
Excellent written and verbal communication in English. Your specs, roadmaps, and decision documents are clear, concise, and easy to follow for readers across languages. A daily, opinionated user of AI products, with high standards for consumer experiences.
Preferred Based in the San Francisco Bay Area and able to work onsite at our Cupertino office. Proficiency in Mandarin, to work directly with our hardware team in China. Experience working with hardware, engineering, or manufacturing teams in global locations.
Experience building apps for connected hardware or wearables, such as device pairing, firmware updates, and device settings. Experience with voice assistants, conversational AI, or proactive and personalized assistants. Experience with personal productivity, note-taking, journaling, memory, or knowledge management products.
0-to-1 experience at a startup or on a new product line. Experience building accessible products and working with accessibility standards such as WCAG. Experience with privacy-sensitive consumer products and familiarity with data privacy frameworks such as CCPA/CPRA and GDPR.
You build things yourself. Prototypes, side projects, or tools built with AI coding assistants are a strong plus, and we'd love to see them.
