About this role

About the role

Vera Cultivation is a licensed cannabis cultivation and infused-products company founded in 2018, operating facilities in Denver and Boulder. We're hiring a Post Production Senior Operations Manager to own everything that happens between harvest and a shipped order.

You'll be the single point of accountability for turning harvested plant material into finished, compliant, sellable product across both sites. That covers harvest, drying, curing, trimming, testing, packaging, pre-rolls, solventless concentrates, and inventory & fulfillment.

You'll lead the Harvest & Trim Manager and the Packaging & Pre-Roll Manager, and directly oversee the Inventory & Fulfillment team. You'll report to the COO and work closely with Cultivation and Sales. As we add ingestibles and vape production, those lines will report to this role too.

This is a throughput-and-accountability role. You'll own the production schedule, the post-production budget, and the compliance of the department, and you'll be expected to absorb operational problems rather than route them upward.

What you'll do

  • Own the production schedule for harvest & trim, pre-rolls, solventless, and fulfillment across both sites. Publish it weekly, lock it a week out, and work backward from the sales forecast to biomass and harvest needs.
  • Lead and develop managers. Set clear expectations and quarterly objectives, hold managers accountable for their SOPs and training, run a weekly operations meeting, resolve resource conflicts, and coach your department heads.
  • Support inventory and fulfillment. Oversee our Inventory & Fulfillment team directly, providing support, direction, and troubleshooting so inventory stays reconciled to Metrc and orders ship accurately and on time.
  • Own the post-production budget. Build the monthly and annual forecast across labor, materials, and vendor spend, and report variances with a plan.
  • Build the reporting. Define the KPIs, deliver a monthly production report covering output, yields, schedule adherence, compliance events, and cost per unit, and drive improvement against the top constraint.
  • Keep the department compliant and audit-ready. Apply Colorado MED rules, own RTA tracking, test sampling and submission, label approval, corrective action, internal audits, and the company's HACCP program.
  • Build the tools departments need. Build, or help build, trackers, dashboards, and other tools. We encourage using AI and automation where they help.
  • Lead people. Give feedback, plan succession, sit in on key interviews and terminations, and create a workplace people want to stay in.

What you bring

Required

  • 5+ years managing multi-department production operations, including 2+ years managing managers
  • Experience in a regulated production environment with track-and-trace or chain-of-custody requirements
  • Working knowledge of Colorado MED rules for post-production, or the ability to get there quickly
  • A track record of owning a production schedule across multiple product lines
  • Budget ownership: building a forecast, tracking against it, and explaining variance
  • Strong quantitative skills; you build your own reports
  • Able to build, or help build, simple digital tools, with strong spreadsheet skills
  • Inventory control and fulfillment experience
  • HACCP qualification, or able to obtain it within 90 days
  • A current MED occupational license, or eligibility to obtain one before starting
  • 21 or older

Nice to have

  • Cannabis post-production experience, especially solventless, pre-roll, or packaging at scale
  • Ingestibles or vape manufacturing experience
  • Experience owning a HACCP program
  • Experience standing up a new production line
  • Comfort with no-code, automation, or AI tools

Working conditions

Time split evenly between our Denver and Boulder facilities. Production environment with extended standing and exposure to plant material and equipment. Occasional early or extended hours around harvest and fulfillment cycles.

Compensation and benefits

  • Salary: $110,000 – $130,000 per year, depending on experience
  • Bonus or other compensation: None
  • Benefits: Paid time off, including paid sick leave under the Colorado Healthy Families and Workplaces Act, and an employee discount.

We are an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer

Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, gender identity, disability, veteran status or any other status protected by applicable law.

Pay: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
