Systems Architect

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Serves as the primary technical partner to the Product Manager, providing strategic technical guidance that bridges business objectives and engineering execution
• Demonstrated ability to operate at both a strategic and technical level. Guides the engineering team’s technical direction without being solely focused on individual implementation tasks
• Maintains a systems-level perspective on architecture, technical roadmap, and long-term maintainability—balancing near-term delivery needs with sustainable design decisions
• Actively contributes as an individual contributor (IC), participating in hands-on development, code reviews and technical problem-solving
• Responsible for technical leadership and guidance for all aspects of application development and DevOps/DevSecOps implementation
• Translates product goals and user needs into technical approaches, surfacing tradeoffs and risks to CMS in clear, non-technical terms when appropriate
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and demonstrated ability to evaluate, govern, and responsibly integrate AI tooling into the development workflow, including enforcing human-in-the-loop practices
• Subject matter expert on all aspects of software development, testing, and validation
• Familiarity with data privacy and IT security principles and requirements
• Experience implementing consumer-centric/user centered design principles is preferred

• Comfortable presenting complex solutions to end clients
