About this role

Job Overview

Join our clinical team as a Registered Nurse specializing in vascular access. You’ll assess patients, select appropriate access approaches, and perform or support procedures such as IV insertion and catheterization. You’ll use aseptic technique, monitor for complications, and document care in electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Your work will help patients receive timely, safe treatment across care settings.

Duties

  • Assess vascular access needs, review patient history, and explain procedures in clear, reassuring language.
  • Insert and maintain peripheral IVs and other vascular access devices; provide catheter care and respond to access complications.
  • Follow infection control practices, verify orders, administer medications as authorized, and coordinate with the care team.
  • Record assessments, procedures, and follow-up plans accurately while protecting patient privacy under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
  • Your impact: Reliable access and attentive monitoring help patients receive prescribed treatment while reducing avoidable delays and discomfort.

Experience

  • Required: Current registered nurse licensure and demonstrated nursing, patient assessment, IV insertion, and medication administration skills.
  • Preferred: Vascular access, acute care, hospital, critical care, dialysis, infusion, or emergency room experience; familiarity with Epic, Cerner, or other EHR systems.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, aseptic technique, and infection control is valuable.
  • Additional experience in telemetry, medical-surgical care, catheterization, phlebotomy, triage, or outpatient care is helpful.
