Job Title: Azure Systems Engineer
Location: Tampa, FL or Los Angeles, CA (Candidates must currently reside in Tampa, FL or Los Angeles, CA).
Working Mode: 3 days/week Hybrid
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Lead Corporate Systems Engineer to manage, improve, and support enterprise applications and corporate systems across Azure and on-premises environments.
The ideal candidate will combine technical leadership with recent hands-on engineering experience. This role focuses on cloud infrastructure, automation, scripting, troubleshooting, and using AI to improve internal applications, corporate systems, and business processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, maintain, and optimize enterprise applications and infrastructure across Azure and on-premises environments.
- Identify opportunities to implement AI, machine learning, and intelligent automation to improve business processes and internal applications.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions using cloud services, automation, and modern engineering tools.
- Lead technical projects from requirements gathering and design through implementation.
- Troubleshoot complex system issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement solutions.
- Maintain system security, access controls, and compliance with standards such as PCI DSS and SOC 2.
- Develop automation solutions using scripting and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
- Monitor system performance using observability, logging, and monitoring tools.
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to improve corporate applications and workflows.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers while remaining hands-on with engineering tasks.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Systems Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or a related technical role.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and hybrid-cloud environments.
- Experience administering Windows and/or Linux servers.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or ARM templates.
- Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, and/or Bash.
- Hands-on experience with containers and observability tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, or the ELK stack.
- Experience or strong practical knowledge of using AI and intelligent automation to improve business processes, enterprise applications, or internal workflows.
- Ability to lead technical initiatives while remaining hands-on with implementation, troubleshooting, and engineering.
- Experience supporting enterprise applications in a regulated environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in banking, financial services, fintech, or payments.
- Knowledge of PCI DSS, SOC 2, identity and access management (IAM), and enterprise security practices.
- Experience with Azure AI Services, large language models (LLMs), intelligent chatbots, or AI-powered workflow automation.
- C# development experience.
- Experience supporting back-office and corporate business systems.
