Retail Store Operations Manager

Inspire Farms (IF) is searching for a seasoned Store Operations Manager who can help us grow our small business.

The Store Operations Manager will be responsible for day to day back end operations, employee leadership and mentorship, vendor relationships; buying, ordering, and inventorying of the store, plus executing long term visions. This role is perfect for someone who can charismatically engage with customers on the floor, while simultaneously manage the back end of the business.

Inspire Farms is a locally owned farm shop and grocery store in Mesa, Arizona. We are on a mission to support access to happy, healthy, and organic urban farming. We offer everything you need to start your backyard chicken project, including feed, coops, and even baby chicks.

What we’re seeking in a Store Operations Manager:

• 2 or more years of grocery and/or food management experience.
• Proven track record of boosting sales through successful ordering procedures, positive relationships with vendors and upselling to customers.
• Track labor, sales, and inventory in an organized and efficient manner.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Leader on the floor, someone invested in staff potential via mentorship/training.
• Dependable and hard working, with the ability to work a full time and flexible schedule, especially over the holidays.
• Time management is key. You will switch between duties, ensuring staff is on task and the store is in pristine, stocked condition, full of happy customers.
• Have a strong attention to detail, analytical and problem solving skills. Be able to coordinate sales promotion activities and prepare/supervise preparation of merchandise displays.
• We need a go getter, if you notice something needs to be done, you do it.
• Ability to deal with emergencies in accordance with shop policies.
• Able to lift 50 lbs, sit, bend, reach, kneel, and stand for long periods.

• Certified fork lift driver
• Education and/or experience in farm work, especially chickens
• Experience successfully opening new store locations

The Store Manager will report directly to the owner. Pay will be negotiated based on experience. We are an equal opportunity employer.
