Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments related to AP, AR, sales, expenses, inventory, fixed assets, and general ledger accounts
  • Lead accounts payable and expense accounting processes, including invoice review, accruals, and cost recognition
  • Manage inventory accounting, including inventory tracking, valuation, reserves, and periodic inventory reviews
  • Perform inventory valuation and analysis based on applicable costing methodologies
  • Oversee fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and fixed asset reconciliations
  • Perform and review balance sheet/income statement account reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Support revenue-related accounting activities as needed and ensure revenue recognition aligns with ASC 606 requirements
  • Provide assurance that accounting treatments, including revenue recognition, are properly applied and documented
  • Develop, document, and maintain accounting SOPs for assigned processes and ensure proper version control
  • Prepare handover and knowledge transfer documentation to ensure continuity during role transitions or team changes
  • Support internal/external audits, including preparation of schedules and responses to auditor inquiries
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accounting treatments align with operational activities
  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities to enhance efficiency and internal controls
  • Perform bookkeeping activities as needed, including transaction-level review and general ledger maintenance
  • Support basic treasury functions, including bank reconciliations, payment scheduling, cash flow monitoring, and short- and long-term cash flow forecasts
  • Support tax compliance activities (sales & use tax, property tax, 1099 filings), coordinating with external CPA/tax advisors as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable, expense accounting, and general ledger close processes
  • Working knowledge of inventory accounting, fixed asset accounting, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Exposure to revenue recognition principles under ASC 606
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to manage accounting processes independently from transaction-level bookkeeping through financial close
  • Strong documentation, organization, and ownership mindset
