Job Description:
Responsible for the development of middle- to high-end client server-based applications, designing and developing web pages, and porting applications to a web interface. Interfaces with clients to determine requirements. Performs assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
As a web application developer for the CAGE system of applications, the incumbent is responsible for the design, development, testing, and deployment of secure, high-performance web applications that support CAGE operations and missions. A key distinction from general web development is the mandatory adherence to strict Government security and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- General duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Designs, develops, enhances, debugs, and implements software.
- Troubleshoots production problems related to software applications.
- Researches, tests, builds, and coordinates the conversion and/or integration of new products based on client requirements.
- Designs and develops new software products or major enhancements to existing software.
- Addresses problems of systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms.
- Consults with project teams and end users to identify application requirements.
- Performs feasibility analysis on potential future projects for management.
- Assists in the evaluation and recommendation of application software packages, application integration, and testing tools.
- Resolves problems with software and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
- Participates in development of software user manuals.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Associate's degree in Computer Science or other relevant technical discipline (as defined by the CAGE Program Office) from an institution accredited by a U.S. Department of Education–recognized agency. Foreign degrees must be evaluated for U.S. equivalence by a recognized credential evaluation service.
- Experience: Two (2) years of experience in scripting, software development, and web page design and development.
Technical Skills
Experience utilizing C#, .NET, HTML, XML, PERL, and/or Apache.
- Tools: Experience with SharePoint Online (SPO), DreamWeaver, or related applications.
- Soft Skills: Good customer relations skills; able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Certification: Relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority.
- Clearance: IT-II Non-Critical Sensitive security clearance or Tier 3 (T3) at time of proposal submission (or a current National Agency Check with Local Agency Check and Credit Check (NACLC)).
Required Certifications (DoD 8140 / 8570)
- Baseline: DoD-approved 8570 Baseline Certification — Category IAT Level II.
- Role: Server Admin – Applications.
- Certification in one or more “Web Developer with admin accounts / privileged access” functional areas.
