About the Position

Spring Hill Baptist Church is seeking an experienced, dependable, and detail-oriented Accounting & Finance Manager to oversee the church’s day-to-day financial operations.

Reporting directly to the Business Administrator, this position plays an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting church leadership, and ensuring the responsible stewardship of the church’s financial resources.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, payroll, and financial transactions.
• Maintain accurate financial records and reconcile bank and general ledger accounts.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and reports.
• Process contributions and maintain accurate giving records.
• Prepare payroll tax filings, W-2s, 1099s, and related documentation.
• Assist with annual budgeting and financial planning.
• Provide financial reports and administrative support to the Finance Committee.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and sound financial practices.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of three years of relevant professional accounting or financial management experience.
• Experience with financial reporting, bank reconciliations, payroll, and general accounting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
• Commitment to Christian faith and support for the mission of Spring Hill Baptist Church.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in church or nonprofit accounting.
• Familiarity with Shelby or similar financial management software.
