Duties

• Prepare, review, and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and collections.
• Utilize financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Workday, ADP, Ceridian, Kronos, UltiPro, Paychex, and PeopleSoft to record transactions and generate reports.
• Conduct data entry with high precision while handling confidential information securely.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and support audit preparations by providing detailed documentation.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and governmental accounting standards.
• Assist with technical accounting tasks including revenue recognition, expense analysis, and financial concept application.
• Support internal controls by performing account analysis and identifying discrepancies or irregularities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve accounting processes using spreadsheets and advanced Excel data analysis techniques.

Experience

• Proven accounting experience in corporate or governmental environments with a strong understanding of accounting principles such as GAAP.
• Hands-on experience with multiple financial software platforms including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Workday, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro or equivalent systems.
• Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements and internal control procedures.
• Background in public accounting or internships providing exposure to bookkeeping, journal entries, account reconciliation, and balance sheet management is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to handle complex data entry tasks accurately while maintaining attention to detail under tight deadlines.
• Strong numeracy skills combined with excellent math aptitude for account analysis and financial calculations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools—especially Excel—for data analysis and reporting purposes.
