JOB SUMMARY

Monitor, manage and maintain day to day activities of Azure and other environments, respond and address system alerts, notifications. Assist with resource provisioning, migration, configurations in Azure.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Foster communication between IT teams.
• Present recommendations to leadership in a clear and professional manner to assist in informed decision making.
• May lead and direct others on projects and technology paths.
• Follow security architecture standards, frameworks, and guidelines. Emphasizes infrastructure security best practices and ensures adoption across corporate solutions.
• Perform troubleshooting, capacity planning, performance management.
• Incorporate Infrastructure developed strategies into new technology business initiatives.
• Research emerging technologies to assess fit for business needs.
• Translate business requirements into written designs in line with RDI and industry standards.
• Recommend standards such as naming and tagging for Management review and decision.
• Develop and review project testing and implementation plans and project timelines.
• Assess vendor development/test strategies.
• Recommend, review, and create documentation as needed for any new or changed project or technology.
• Ensure systems are adequately tuned, patched, and monitored to meet design specs at optimal levels.
• Implement upgrades, patches, new applications, and installation of infrastructure components.
• Leverage proof-of-concept engineering initiatives for system additions or changes.
• Leverage and follow the change management process.
• Support operational reporting and dashboards.
• Review and participate in business continuity and disaster recovery strategy development.
• Ability to effectively communicate issues and resolutions to all levels of the organization.
• Ability to work both alone and within a team and established standards.
• Travel may be required (up to 10% domestic).
• Strong technical aptitude, creativity, and ability to research and solve complex issues.
• Experience with vendor management is desired.
• Other duties/responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

• Certification(s) in area of specialty is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or in equivalent area of specialty is required.
• Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in the field or related area.
• Experience or exposure to appropriate systems such as:

+ Cloud Services: Microsoft Azure preferred.

+ Azure Entra ID and on-prem Active Directory.

+ Advanced understanding of Microsoft licensing.

+ Backup/DR solutions.

+ Knowledge of scripting, emphasis on PowerShell.

+ Security solutions: IAM, Multi-factor Auth, PAM, SEIM, Pen Testing, Vulnerability Scanning.

• Prior audit experience is desired.

Example

SOX, SOC1, ISO, PCI, HIPPA.

• Prior experience in DR / Business Continuity planning and exercises is desired.
• Proficiency in ITIL Framework is desired.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS

• Experience or exposure to appropriate systems such as:

+ Windows Server operating systems, including Server Core.

+ Active Directory, DNS, DHCP.

+ Performance, capacity, and cost optimization.

+ Microsoft AVDS and RDS.

+ Virtualization Platforms: Nutanix AHV, Azure Stack HCI, VMware, Hyper-V.

+ Server and Storage hardware solutions: SANs, servers, backup appliances.

+ Veeam B&R, Veeam for M365.

+ Azure-based compute and infrastructure services (subscriptions, management/resource groups).

+ Control Azure policy and governance framework.
