Principal Software Engineer (C# or Java)

Job Summary We are seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Software Engineer/ Architect to be an important part of business innovation. In this role, you will embed directly within a key business team to understand their core operational processes and build production-ready, AI-driven applications that transform how they work.

You will leverage modern AI coding harnesses (such as Claude Code and OpenAI Codex) alongside modern enterprise frameworks to rapidly deliver robust full-stack software, design multi-step agentic workflows, and iterate daily based on real user feedback.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Full-Stack Development: Build and deploy scalable, cloud-native enterprise applications using Java/Spring Boot or .NET (C#) on the backend and TypeScript (Angular/NestJS) on the frontend.
• AI & Agentic Workflows: Architect LLM context structures and engineer multi-step AI workflows that automate business processes while maintaining human-in-the-loop approval gates.
• Rapid Business Iteration: Lead daily requirements sessions, refinement meetings, and live product demos directly with non-technical business stakeholders.
• Engineering Standards: Maintain quality through automated testing, high test coverage, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Master's degree in Computer Science from a Top-100 US program (as ranked by CSRankings).
• Experience: 8+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering production-grade applications.
• Backend Mastery: Strong production experience in Java/Spring Boot or .NET (C#) .
• Frontend & API: Hands-on experience with TypeScript utilizing Angular or NestJS , as well as RESTful API design.
• AI Tooling: Daily use of AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, or similar AI harnesses) to build production code.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Proven experience leading technical requirements and live software demos directly with business stakeholders.
• Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical trade-offs to non-technical business leaders.
• Methodology: Experience working in fast-paced Agile environments with tight build demo feedback cycles.
• Location: Must be based in or willing to commute to Charlotte, NC (Hybrid schedule: in-office every Tuesday and Wednesday).
