Accountant/bookkeeper /tax preparer

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Tax Preparer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of financial concepts and tax regulations, along with excellent analytical and customer service skills. This role involves preparing tax returns for individuals and businesses, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws, and providing exceptional service to our clients.

Duties

• Prepare and file accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws.
• Analyze financial data and documentation to identify potential deductions and credits.
• Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks and Sage to manage client accounts effectively.
• Provide guidance on financial concepts and tax strategies to clients, enhancing their understanding of the process.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in tax regulations and accounting practices.
• Assist clients with bookkeeping tasks as needed, ensuring accurate record-keeping throughout the year.
• Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance customer service experiences.
• Conduct financial analysis to support clients' business decisions, leveraging strong math skills and technical accounting knowledge.

Requirements

• Proven experience in tax preparation or public accounting is essential.
• Strong knowledge of financial sales, corporate accounting, and accounting software is preferred.
• Familiarity with financial software tools and bookkeeping practices is a plus.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial information.
• Proficient in 10 key typing for efficient data entry tasks.
• Strong customer service orientation with effective communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
• A solid understanding of marketing principles related to financial services is beneficial but not required.
