About this role
Company Overview
Prometheus LLC is a minority disadvantaged and veteran-owned small business (VOSB) consulting firm dedicated to delivering innovative cybersecurity solutions. We partner with clients making a meaningful impact, exploring and implementing emerging technologies to give them a strategic advantage.
Job Summary
We are hiring a Cybersecurity Operations Lead to oversee real-time security monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, and threat correlation for a federal IT environment. The lead will manage SIEM operations (Microsoft Sentinel), conduct threat analysis, and support federal security frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Lead security operations, monitoring, triage, and incident response within established SLAs.
- Manage SIEM platforms (Microsoft Sentinel), EDR (Microsoft Defender), and security event logging.
- Perform vulnerability scanning (Qualys), analysis, remediation tracking, and threat reporting.
- Maintain continuous cybersecurity situational awareness and integrate CDM feeds.
- Support insider threat programs, privileged access controls, and FISMA reporting.
Basic Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship is strictly required.
- Active Security Clearance
- Experience:
- Minimum 8 years of experience in cybersecurity operations, incident response, or SOC environments.
- Minimum 5 years supporting federal cybersecurity programs.
- Required Certification: CISSP (or recognized equivalent).
- Strong expertise with SIEM platforms, log analysis, vulnerability management, and federal compliance (FISMA, FedRAMP, Zero Trust).
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
Experience supporting DHS Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) DEFEND F dashboard integrations.
- Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate (SC-200) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
- Experience establishing Incident Response containment metrics within strict SLAs (e.g., triage 15m, containment 4h).
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps and Persistent Access Capability (PAC) feeds.
- Proven ability and willingness to step into cross-functional IT/cybersecurity roles as operational needs arise. Because this is a lean, highly collaborative team supporting a small federal agency, candidates are expected to participate in cross-training, share operational coverage, and flex beyond strict job boundaries to maintain continuous mission support.
This role offers a dynamic environment where your cybersecurity expertise will directly impact national security efforts while leading a talented team dedicated to safeguarding critical federal information systems.
