Pepin Suter Remodeling | Wichita, Kansas

Job Type: Full-Time

Location: Wichita, KS – Primarily On-Site and In the Field

About Pepin Suter Remodeling

Pepin Suter Remodeling is a growing residential construction company serving Wichita and the surrounding communities. We specialize in high-end residential remodeling, custom homes, additions, roofing, and insurance restoration.

We take pride in delivering exceptional craftsmanship, providing a great customer experience, and building a team that holds itself to high standards.

As our company continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced, organized, and motivated Construction Project Manager who can take ownership of projects from planning through completion.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys leading people, solving problems, building relationships, and creating efficient systems in a growing company.

Position Overview

The Construction Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing multiple residential construction projects, coordinating employees and subcontractors, managing schedules, and ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to our quality standards.

The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who understands residential construction, communicates effectively, and can anticipate problems before they affect the project.

We are looking for someone who takes ownership, follows through on commitments, and understands that successful project management requires both attention to detail and the ability to see the big picture.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop and maintain construction schedules for multiple active projects.
  • Coordinate in-house carpentry and painting crews, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Ensure materials, equipment, and labor are available when needed.
  • Plan work efficiently to minimize downtime, scheduling conflicts, and unnecessary trips.
  • Anticipate scheduling issues and proactively adjust plans to keep projects moving.

Construction Management & Quality Control

  • Oversee residential remodeling, additions, custom homes, roofing, and restoration projects.
  • Review project scopes, plans, specifications, and budgets before work begins.
  • Conduct regular jobsite visits to monitor progress and workmanship.
  • Identify potential construction issues and resolve them before they become costly problems.
  • Ensure work meets company standards, applicable building codes, and customer expectations.
  • Coordinate inspections and ensure projects are ready for each construction phase.

Team Leadership & Accountability

  • Provide clear direction and expectations to employees and subcontractors.
  • Hold team members accountable for schedules, workmanship, jobsite cleanliness, and professionalism.
  • Encourage teamwork and communication between trades.
  • Identify obstacles that prevent crews from working efficiently.
  • Help create a positive, productive, and accountable company culture.

Customer Communication

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for homeowners during construction.
  • Provide timely updates on project progress, schedules, and upcoming work.
  • Address customer concerns professionally and proactively.
  • Coordinate with company leadership and design staff regarding selections, changes, and project details.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships throughout the construction process.

Budget Management & Documentation

  • Monitor labor, material, and subcontractor costs against project budgets.
  • Identify potential cost overruns and communicate them promptly.
  • Ensure work stays within the approved scope and that changes are documented and approved before additional work begins.
  • Maintain accurate project schedules, notes, daily logs, and documentation in Buildertrend.
  • Coordinate with office staff regarding purchasing, invoices, and project financial information.

Qualifications

Required

  • 3+ years of residential construction project management, superintendent, or equivalent field leadership experience.
  • Strong understanding of residential construction methods, materials, and sequencing.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects and subcontractors simultaneously.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to hold people accountable professionally.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Comfortable using computers, smartphones, and construction management software.

Preferred

  • Experience with high-end residential remodeling, additions, or custom home construction.
  • Experience using Buildertrend or similar construction management software.
  • Familiarity with construction budgets, job costing, and change-order management.
  • Experience working with in-house crews and outside subcontractors.
  • Experience implementing processes and improving operational efficiency.

What We’re Looking For

The right person for this role will:

  • Take ownership of projects rather than wait to be told what to do.
  • Be highly organized and able to manage competing priorities.
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with customers, employees, and subcontractors.
  • Recognize problems early and bring solutions, not just problems.
  • Understand the importance of profitability, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead by example and hold themselves to the same standards they expect from others.
  • Be comfortable working in a growing company where systems and processes are continually improving.

We’re building a company that values craftsmanship, accountability, teamwork, and professional growth.
