Responsibilities

• Responsible for providing advanced nursing care and treatment to patients under the supervision of a physician.
• Performs physical examinations, orders diagnostic tests, develops treatment plans, and prescribes drugs or other therapies.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED* A college degree as a Physician’s Assistant from a recognized university, affiliated with a medical school.

• Keyboarding and internet skills, ability to work with electronic medical records, webpages and patient portal.
• Georgia State Medical Board Certification and adherence to the Medical Practice Act provisions; Current NCCPA certification.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED* Compassionate, thorough, focused, and detail oriented. Able to recognize, analyze and prioritize problems. Preference for dealing with people who are ill and need help.

Displays an outgoing, warm and helpful attitude. Tact to deal effectively with patients, guests, co-workers and physicians. Able to communicate clearly with patients over the telephone and in person.

• Two to five years of experience with a medical practice setting where diagnosis, treatment, and patient education were the main focus of the role.
