About this role
Hybrid (San Francisco, CA) | $160K to $240K | 3 openings PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR LINKEDIN TO BE CONSIDERED!
About the company
A venture-backed healthcare AI startup building software for home health agencies, an industry still running on decades-old record systems that bury clinicians in paperwork.
Its first product, an AI documentation tool, is already in daily use at hundreds of agencies serving tens of thousands of patients, and it leads its category. The company is now building a complete AI-native medical record system to replace those legacy platforms outright.
The team is small (around 15 people, mostly engineers) and the technical founders are hands-on in product.
The role
You'll be one of the company's first product managers, owning whole areas of the new record system such as patient intake, scheduling, billing, and documentation.
The job is to take workflows agencies currently run through spreadsheets and old software and rebuild them as products designed around AI from the start. You'll work directly with all three founders, split your time between customers and engineering, and help define how product works at the company.
The team is hiring three PMs at once, so you'll be shaping the product practice alongside a small founding cohort rather than slotting into an existing org. What you'll do
- Interview and shadow home health staff across intake, scheduling, billing, and documentation to find where their days break down
- Build fast prototypes with AI tools, demo them to agencies, run walkthroughs, and iterate on what you hear
- Spend at least half your time with engineers: turning customer insight into clear problems, giving product feedback, and reviewing what ships from start to finish
- Turn one-off agency requests into features that work across every customer, covering both new 0-to-1 products and improvements to the core platform
- Own outcomes like adoption, usage, NPS, and time saved for clinicians and office staff, and report learnings to the founders weekly
What you must bring
- 1+ years of product management experience, ideally recent and at an early-stage or high-growth startup
- 2+ years of hands-on engineering work (full-stack, founding engineer, or forward deployed engineer) before moving into product
- A CS degree or closely related technical degree
- Strong B2B SaaS product sense
- Enough technical depth to work credibly with engineers and reason from first principles (you won't be expected to write production code)
- Comfort spending real time with customers on discovery, not just reading tickets
- A low-ego, customer-first approach and a willingness to take on whatever work moves the product forward
- Ability to work on-site in San Francisco three days a week
Nice to have
- Product experience in healthcare AI or health tech
- Experience modernizing legacy workflows in another regulated industry, such as financial services or logistics
- A track record owning operational, workflow-heavy products
- Some familiarity with Python or rapid prototyping tools
Compensation & logistics
- $160K to $240K base salary plus competitive equity
- Benefits include platinum health, dental, and vision coverage, unlimited PTO, and a 401(k)
- Hybrid, on-site three days a week in San Francisco, CA, with minimal travel
- 3 openings
- Must be authorized to work in the US without current or future visa sponsorship (this includes candidates on OPT or STEM OPT who would later need H-1B sponsorship). Not open to visa transfers.
This isn't the right fit if
- You've never worked as an engineer and can't go deep on technical tradeoffs with the team
- Your product experience is entirely at large companies, with no recent startup work
- Your history shows several stints shorter than a year
- You mainly want to manage people rather than do the hands-on product work yourself
