About this role

About the Role

At Mason’s Yard Care LLC, we specialize in high-end custom landscape transformations, complex hardscaping, and full-service property maintenance. As our company continues to expand, the Owner is seeking a seasoned, hands-on Operations Manager to serve as their direct right-hand leader.

This is not a desk job—you will be responsible for field operations. You will oversee both our yard maintenance crews and our high-end landscape construction crews, serving as the critical bridge between company leadership and job-site execution.

We are looking for an absolute expert with comprehensive, full-scope technical knowledge across all aspects of field execution: supervising, troubleshooting, running materials, providing clear instructions, and jumping in to work alongside the crews when duty calls.

Please Note

Candidates will undergo a comprehensive competency/hands-on assessment during the interview process, followed by extensive, structured training on our internal systems and quality standards. Deep, proven technical knowledge of landscaping and hardscaping is mandatory from day one.

Key Responsibilities

  • Field Supervision & Quality Control: Oversee daily operations for all active job sites (both maintenance and custom landscape construction). Ensure every project meets Mason's Yard Care LLC's high standards of quality and efficiency.
  • Crew Management & Direction: Serve as the direct supervisor for maintenance and construction crew leads and laborers. Provide clear instructions, enforce safety standards, and keep teams on schedule.
  • Active Leadership & Labor Support: Work directly in the field. Deliver materials, troubleshoot unexpected site issues on the spot, and jump in to assist crews with physical labor whenever necessary to keep projects moving forward.
  • Owner’s Right Hand: Partner directly with the owner to translate project plans and business goals into daily field execution.
  • Site Logistics & Safety: Coordinate daily routes, material deliveries, equipment staging, and ensure job sites are maintained in a safe, clean, and organized manner.
  • Winter Operations Management: Oversee commercial snow removal operations (plowing, walk clearing, and de-icing) during the winter months.

Required Qualifications

  • Extensive Field Experience: 7+ years of hands-on experience in high-end landscape construction, hardscaping (paver patios, retaining walls, artificial turf, xeriscaping, French drains), and routine property maintenance.
  • Technical Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of site grading, base prep, irrigation systems, and heavy equipment operation (Bobcat track loaders, mini-excavators).
  • Bilingual Fluency (Strict Requirement): Must be fluent in both English and Spanish to communicate effectively with the owner, management team, and all field crews.
  • Leadership & Problem-Solving: Natural ability to lead, command respect on job sites, stay calm under pressure, and troubleshoot complex technical issues on the fly.
  • Licensing: Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record (Required).

Pay: From $60,000.00 per year

Application Question(s):

  • What is your level of experience operating heavy landscape equipment (such as Bobcat track loaders and mini-excavators) for grading, trenching, and material moving?
  • Briefly describe your experience installing complex hardscape projects (e.g., paver patios, block retaining walls, French drains, artificial turf). What critical steps do you take to ensure proper base preparation and long-term durability?
  • Can you give an example of a time on a job site when something went wrong (such as an equipment breakdown, incorrect materials, or unpredictable ground conditions) and how you resolved it on the spot?
  • This role requires working directly alongside crews in the field, including hauling materials and doing manual labor when needed. What is your philosophy on leading from the front versus managing from a distance?

Experience:

  • hands-on landscape: 7 years (Required)
  • hands-on yard maintenance : 7 years (Required)
  • leadership : 3 years (Required)

Language:

  • Spanish and English fluently (Required)

License/Certification:

  • driver license (clean record) (Required)

Ability to Commute:

  • Sparks, NV 89431 (Required)

Work Location: In person
