Pediatric Physical Therapist

Job Overview

We are seeking to contract a compassionate and skilled Physical Therapist to join our team at Little Giant Pediatrics, a Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) center. The Physical Therapist will work with medically fragile children, providing individualized therapy to support mobility, strength, coordination, and overall physical development in a safe, nurturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate pediatric patients and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to their medical and developmental needs.
• Provide direct physical therapy services, including exercises, mobility training, positioning, and therapeutic play.
• Collaborate with nurses, occupational and speech therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
• Monitor and document progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed to meet goals.
• Educate and support families on carryover activities and safe handling techniques.
• Ensure therapy services are delivered in accordance with all state and federal regulations, as well as PPEC and AHCA standards.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation for all therapy services provided.
• Participate in team meetings, care planning, and staff training as needed.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT)
• Current Florida licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT)
• CPR certification (PALS preferred)
• Experience working with pediatric populations, preferably medically complex children
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Knowledge of developmental milestones and pediatric therapy techniques
• Familiarity with PPEC or similar pediatric care settings is a plus
