Quality Assurance Analyst – Advanced

Job Summary : Quality Assurance Analyst Advanced (Tallahassee, FL)

• Support planning, design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise applications for the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS), Division of Food, Nutrition and Wellness (FNW).
• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, scenarios, and scripts based on business and technical requirements.
• Perform both manual and automated testing to validate application functionality and identify defects.
• Design, develop, maintain, and scale automated testing frameworks (including Page Object Model).
• Create and update automation scripts using Selenium or similar automation tools.
• Test REST APIs and microservices; perform endpoint validation, contract testing, and payload verification using tools like Postman or Insomnia.
• Conduct and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business users and department staff.
• Participate in requirements, design, development, and testing meetings (including JAD sessions).
• Analyze business processes and translate requirements into technical specifications, process models, and flows.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, developers, business analysts, and project teams to understand requirements and resolve issues.
• Review technical documentation and ensure application deliverables meet departmental standards.
• Identify software defects, perform root-cause analysis, and coordinate with development teams for resolution.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical and QA documentation.
• Support the FANS modernization project and ongoing maintenance of FNW applications.
• Work independently, follow project plans, adhere to deadlines, and deliver high-quality deliverables.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years experience in Quality Assurance and/or Business Analysis.
• 7+ years in Agile software development environments.
• 7+ years manual and automated testing experience.
• 7+ years with Azure DevOps and/or Team Foundation Server (TFS).
• 7+ years in conducting business process and JAD meetings.
• 7+ years supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• 7+ years designing and maintaining automated testing frameworks (Selenium or similar tools).
• 5+ years testing REST APIs and microservices.
• Hands-on experience with API testing tools (Postman, Insomnia, etc.).
• 7+ years translating functional to technical specifications and creating process models/flows.
• Strong verbal and written communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and with diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with FDACS, FNW, FDC, FANS, and AR applications.
• Experience in government/public-sector QA environments.

Education

• Bachelor s degree in Information Technology or related field preferred.
