Seasonal Operations Manager (with path to Store Manager)

About us

Wonderen makes fresh, authentic Dutch stroopwafels. We have a store in Grand Central Terminal, and this holiday season we're also running two pop-up booths in Bryant Park. We need a hands-on, energetic manager to keep all three locations running smoothly during our busiest time of year.

The role

This is an active, on-your-feet job. You'll move between Grand Central and our Bryant Park booths, lead the team on the floor and make sure every location is stocked, staffed and serving customers well. You'll report directly to the owner.

What you'll do

• Run day-to-day operations across all three locations: opening and closing, cleanliness, product quality and customer service
• Restock the booths each morning. You'll drive our van to deliver product and supplies to Bryant Park before opening
• Manage inventory. Track stock levels, anticipate busy days and flag reorders before we run low
• Lead, motivate and train staff. Onboard seasonal team members, coach them on product and service, and keep morale high through the holiday rush
• Build and adjust schedules so every location has the right coverage
• Step in when needed. Cover shifts when team members call in sick, including working the counter yourself
• Handle cash and POS. Oversee register counts, daily sales reconciliation and cash drops
• Keep standards high for food safety, hygiene and booth presentation
• Solve problems as they happen, from equipment issues and weather to long lines and unhappy customers
• Report to the owner regularly on daily sales, staffing, stock levels and any issues

What we're looking for

• 2+ years of experience in retail, food service or hospitality, including at least 1 year as a supervisor or manager
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record (required)
• Flexible availability: mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays (including Thanksgiving and the weeks before Christmas)
• Comfortable working outdoors in cold weather and standing for long periods
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs
• A natural leader who stays calm under pressure and keeps the team upbeat
• Clear, reliable communicator
• Organized and self-directed, able to manage several locations without being told what to do next
• Nice to have: NYC Food Protection Certificate, experience with markets or pop-ups

• Dates: Immediate start through January 5, 2027
• Schedule: Full-time, hours vary (mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays)
• Pay: $20–$25 per hour
• Perks: Free Wonderen product, plus the opportunity to stay on as Store Manager at our Grand Central location after the season
