Job description

About this role

Kensington Sales Group (KSG) is an outsourced B2B and B2G sales and business development firm. We embed business development reps (BDRs) directly into our clients' sales motions to open doors in state and local government (SLG) markets.

For more than 10 years, KSG has helped companies that sell into the public sector and utilities, with additional work in healthcare, transportation, public safety and K-12/higher education. Our clients sell into long, compliance-heavy sales cycles, and we know how to build pipeline in them.

The role

The Marketing Manager owns KSG's demand generation, from the website and search presence to email programs and sales-enablement content. You will make KSG easy to find, whether a prospect searches Google or asks an AI assistant, and turn that attention into qualified conversations for our sales team.

This is a hands-on role at a lean firm. You will plan the strategy and also do the work: build the campaigns, write and edit the content, run HubSpot and report on what it produced.

Responsibilities

HubSpot and marketing operations

  • Own KSG's HubSpot instance: contact and company properties, lists, workflows, lead scoring and lifecycle stages
  • Build and maintain attribution and dashboards that show marketing's contribution to pipeline
  • Keep the database clean, segmented and aligned with the sales team's prospecting lists

Email marketing

  • Plan and run nurture sequences, newsletters and campaign emails for prospects and clients
  • Write, design and A/B test emails; improve open, click and reply rates over time
  • Manage deliverability: domain authentication, list hygiene and sending reputation

SEO

  • Own the keyword strategy for KSG's core markets: SLG sales, public sector, utilities and outsourced business development
  • Lead on-page and technical SEO for the website, including site structure, page speed, metadata and internal linking
  • Track rankings and organic traffic and report on what they produce

AI search optimization (AEO/GEO)

  • Make KSG visible in AI-generated answers from tools such as ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude
  • Structure content and schema markup so AI systems can find, understand and cite KSG
  • Monitor how and where KSG appears in AI answers, and adjust content to improve it

Content and sales enablement

  • Produce articles, case studies, one-pagers and outbound sequences with the sales team
  • Manage KSG's LinkedIn presence and support executive thought leadership
  • Support new offerings and verticals with positioning and launch campaigns

Required qualifications

  • 5+ years in B2B marketing, with at least 2 years owning demand generation or digital marketing
  • 3+ years of hands-on HubSpot experience (Marketing Hub required; Sales Hub a plus), including workflows, lists, lead scoring, reporting and CRM data management
  • Proven email marketing results: building nurture programs, segmentation, A/B testing and managing deliverability
  • Demonstrated SEO results: keyword research, on-page and technical SEO, and measurable gains in organic traffic or rankings, using tools such as Google Search Console, GA4, Semrush or Ahrefs
  • Working knowledge of AI search optimization (also called AEO or GEO): how large language models and AI search tools select and cite sources, and how to structure content and schema to earn those citations
  • Strong writer and editor who can turn complex services into clear, persuasive copy
  • Comfortable with data: you set goals, track them and report on pipeline impact, not just activity

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience marketing to or for companies that sell into government, utilities, healthcare or other regulated markets
  • Background at an agency, outsourced sales firm or professional services business
  • HubSpot certifications (Marketing Hub, Inbound, Email Marketing or SEO)
  • Experience with schema markup, structured data and AI visibility tracking tools
  • Experience with LinkedIn advertising and account-based marketing
  • Basic web skills: editing site pages and landing pages without a developer
  • Bilingual English/Spanish

Pay: $71,100.00 - $85,700.00 per year
