About this role
Company Overview
Kemper Equipment supplies and manufactures aggregate processing and conveyor equipment and parts. The family-owned company values innovation, knowledge, safety, and commitment, and works to exceed expectations through valued partnerships.
Position Summary
The Senior Accountant supports centralized, multi-entity accounting for a growing
organization with capital equipment, custom manufacturing, service, distribution, and
rentals.
This position will be primarily responsible for the capital side of the business, including
assigned month-end close activities, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations,
intercompany activity, recurring schedules, operational reporting, job-costing review, CAM
calculations, and accounting-system documentation. The role also provides payroll and
time-data support, including entering approved hours, validating variances, documenting
exceptions, and responding to employee questions; payroll processing and final approval
remain with the designated payroll owner.
The Senior Accountant will also provide backup support for distribution sales accounting
and close activities when the distribution sales counterpart is unavailable or when
completing deadlines require additional coverage. This is an individual contributor role with
no initial direct reports and an opportunity to grow into broader accounting
responsibilities.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working across multiple entities,
investigating discrepancies, following issues through resolution, and improving processes
as ERP and payroll software workflows mature.
