Staff Accountant Location: Spring, TX Job Type: Full-Time, Onsite Salary Range: $60,000–$75,000 annually About the Company Our client is an established HVAC company serving the North Houston area, providing residential heating and air conditioning services, new construction, custom home installations, and ongoing maintenance programs.

Position Overview Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support day-to-day financial operations across multiple areas of the business. This individual will help maintain accurate financial records, support accounting activities across residential service, new construction, custom home installations, and membership programs, and work closely with company leadership to understand financial performance.

This position is open due to an upcoming retirement, providing an opportunity for the incoming accountant to work alongside an experienced team member during the transition and learn established processes. The ideal candidate has strong accounting fundamentals, takes ownership of their work, and is interested in becoming a long-term member of a close-knit team.

Experience in HVAC, construction, or a similar service-based business is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting activities and maintain accurate financial records.
• Support accounting operations across multiple business lines, including residential service, new construction, custom home installations, and membership programs.
• Maintain and review financial information to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Assist with general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, and other routine accounting functions.
• Support financial reporting and provide information that helps leadership evaluate business performance.
• Assist with tracking and reviewing job costs, project expenses, and other financial activity as applicable.
• Work with leadership to identify discrepancies, address accounting questions, and maintain reliable financial information.
• Learn existing accounting processes and systems during the transition period and assume responsibility for assigned duties.
• Maintain organized documentation and follow established accounting procedures.
• Contribute to an efficient, collaborative work environment while meeting deadlines and maintaining attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related financial role.
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial recordkeeping.
